Semiconductor: Skills, Talent and Education Programme (STEP) is a collaborative programme co-ordinated by UKESF that is supporting the UK's National Semiconductor strategy. Through its various facets, STEP will equip more young people, undergraduates and early career engineers with the skills to thrive in the UK's semiconductor industry. More details can be found project can be found on the Semiconductor:STEP website.

The Semiconductor Skills Development Courses will enable participants to take a chip design through the design flow, to the point where it is ready for fabrication. This will increase knowledge and skills in chip design, ready for a career in the semiconductor sector. Aspiring semiconductor students and university lecturers will be able to participate in the Semiconductor Skills Development Course, which will take place in two parts. This will be a self-paced e-learning course in basic circuit design and 5 day residential course in IC design using industry standard design tools.

The National Microelectronics Support Centre at STFC will deliver the residential Semiconductor Skills Development Course. Details of the next residential IC design flow course(s) can be found below
